How to install VMware Tools into the Nervepoint Access Manager Virtual Machine.

Installing VMware tools requires command line access, so the installation method varies depending on the version of Access Manager you are using, here are articles explaining how to do it for Access Manager 1.1 and 1.2.

Before making any changes to your VM and it's configuration, we highly recommend taking a backup or a snapshot first, so you can roll back to a working state if you have any problems.

Access Manager 1.1

If you are using Access Manager 1.1 perform the steps below and then follow the article:

You will need to install openssh-server on the server. To do this, login to webmin on port 10000 (https://<server>:10000) navigate to 'Software Package Updates' and select 'only new' and then enter 'openssh-server' in the input box (without quotes). This will search for the package and as long as you have external Internet access it will locate and install openssh-server. Then, simply restart your VM and you will notice you are now presented with a command prompt instead of the Access Manager VM menu.

Access Manager 1.2

If you are using Access Manager 1.2 then you can use the command line directly through the VM interface with ALT + F2, ALT + F1 will return you to the VM interface. following this article:
